Untitled

[edit]

This was the original article (so the history matters) and is currently the redirect target (location) of Grantville Gazette I (placeholder or term article), which technically, is not a proper title, but colloquially is used as one since the milieu matured and volume II was published in hardcover.

  • The original title of the print edition is this one The Grantville Gazette, however, that was applied while it was still an experment in publishing, and not an ongoing self-funding successful concern and the soul if not the heart of an historic collaborative publication.
  • As a consequence of the seven currently extant volumes, the decision was made to split and reorganize the coverage on these works today since I am a unanomous committee of one working this project. FrankB 04:41, 28 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

As of today

[edit]
  1. The Grantville Gazettes (new - 4/27/06) supplants the general article with the contents heretofore held under this title (The Grantville Gazette). That is to say, the article The Grantville Gazettes is a type of main article that will explain and tie the various grantville gazette articles together and be linked to from within each of those.
  2. The Grantville Gazette, since it is the title of the eBook and print published work will cover the original first book published by this common name.
  3. Article titled: Grantville Gazette II, Grantville Gazette III, ..., Grantville Gazette VII have been or will soon be created coresponding to their respective works. This will allow each publications works to have the proper amount of coverage, and maintain flexibility.

Considerations

[edit]
  • The question on this title going forward is whether to replace the contents of Grantville Gazette I with these, and then dedicate this article page to the serialized eMagazine version (i.e. an article on and about the eMagazine) and thus unburden the Vol-I — Vol-NN articles for the eBook version and following print versions and so forth from the need to cover the eMagazine in any depth.

Disambig

[edit]

I have made this into a disambig, considering that The Grantville Gazettes was an almost identical duplicate. One article for series is enough, plus one for each gazette - but the nr 1 issue should be at Grantville Gazette I.--Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus Talk 05:39, 2 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My 2c

[edit]

FrankB asked for my input, so here it is (fwiw):

  • I would italicize the TOC headings rather than bold them.
  • I would definitely remove the detail about Baen's Bar, since it has its own article and this article is "busy" enough.
  • I like the cover images.
  • The format and layout are fine if you like lots of bells and whistles...if you were to provide a trimmed-down version you could make external links to the TOC and the other online content. But I know black & white is not your bag, so go for it! Cheers, Her Pegship 15:14, 24 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"Series premise"

[edit]

Can we remove the "Series premise" section as it contains more of a fan's POV.--Drgyen (talk) 03:16, 11 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'll see if I can tone it down at least. Kind of hard to depict the place of the stories of the anthology without explaining what the series backstory is all about. // FrankB 19:33, 16 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
