Company

[edit]

There is a company called 'Green Connection'. It's a small company, but it's still one. I tried to add information to it on the page but it was deleted. What can I do for it to stay? Blogman12 (talk) 20:00, 6 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Personally I don't see how a student acting company is notable. One of the first things that you need to establish for any article is notability (see WP:Notability). Since verifiability (see WP:Verifiability) is also one of the requirements (and there is no way for anyone to verify the content you posted), one of the ways to help establish notability is with multiple citations from sources unrelated to the organization -- particularly from non-local sources (definitely not the school newspaper). When creating such an article it is common to use a sandbox in your own working area to hold the article until it is ready. If you need additional help, you can contact me on my user page. I'm going to be on only intermittently available for the next two weeks, but I will help as much as I can. Don Lammers (talk) 00:31, 7 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The company was made by Worldview Impact, and we are supported by them, especially one of the Board of Directors (Bremley). I could also find some references about the company. Would that help? Blogman12 (talk) 14:14, 7 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I don't see "Worldview Impact" (or Worldview international, which seems to be the foundation name) as an article on Wikipedia. Even if it was present, notability is not inherited (please read WP:Notability, as other people have discussed this in much greater detail than I am prepared to), so the fact that this company was created by Worldview or that a member is supported by Worldview does not in itself establish notability of either the company or the person. With the amount of information you provided (very little, since a list of current names is not really encyclopedic), the Green Connection might better just be a section of that article (if it existed). Finally, if you want to create an article (particularly when there is naming conflict), you really need to set up a sandbox so that you can create the article offline and get buy-in before trying to post it. Yes, references in reliable sources would help, but just doing a quick Google search, "Green Connection" seems to be a very common name and I don't spot your particular one on the first few pages, so this is likely to be an uphill battle.
