Too soon?[edit]

I know there might be worries that this is too soon for an entry, although I'll say that this has received more than a fair share of visibility from various websites. If all else fails, I'm open to creating a page for Stevenson and merging the content of this and Nimona into that entry.Tokyogirl79 (｡◕‿◕｡) 11:50, 18 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Skjaldmeyja and hotlinking[edit]

I haven't really seen anything to prove that Skjaldmeyja created and maintains the website. If anyone can come up with a reliable source that backs this up we can re-add it, but without proof we have to keep the info as Stevenson creating the site. Almost all of the information out there suggests that Stevenson is the creator of the site, although Blue did spark the meme.

I also wanted to say that we shouldn't hotlink to sites within the article. Things of that nature should go in the external links section and even then, only when it's something of dire importance to the article's subject. Linking to someone's general tumblr account doesn't really fall under those lines and would be considered relatively inappropriate. I have to say that I'd argue that even Stevenson's tumblr account would be something I'd recommend against adding to the EL, so it's not necessarily a matter of "this person is more official sounding than that person". I apologize for jumping in and editing the page without learning how to do it properly. There have been several news articles that mistakenly attributed the .com creation to Noelle and/or Blue. Between them they came up with the concept of replacing female characters with Clint, while I developed the blog and subsequent website, and Milli designed the theme. (I'm not sure if I should link to their pages here) For confirmation on my creating the website, it's listed in the FAQ (http://thehawkeyeinitiative.com/faq). Removed content[edit]

I removed a link to The Best Page in the Universe. I'd thought it a nn blog but it does look like it's more than that. However the Wikipedia entry establishes this as a satirical page, so this wouldn't really be usable as a source based on that alone. Bias/Non-objective opinion as fact?[edit]

From the lede:

The site's intent is phrased as "to draw attention to how deformed, hypersexualized, and unrealistically dressed women are drawn in comics" by using a strawman argument and comparing men's bodies to woman. [5] The site further states that these poses are seen as normal and go unnoticed by many readers when performed by female superheroes but ignores that Men and woman are sexualised differently.[6]

It seems to me that these (highlighted in italics) statements are more opinion, and not backed by the citations present. Wouldn't this be the sort of thing that's better brought up (with proper documentation) under the topics Critical Reception, or Reception? --Reverend Loki (talk) 14:12, 20 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
