Far too long

This article has gotten completely out of hand. It is written more like a master's thesis or research paper than a Wikipedia article. It needs to be condensed considerably, from the current 14,000 words to probably between 2,000 and 3,000. It is unfortunate that nobody stumbled across this problem sooner so that the primary author of the expanded prose didn't have to waste their time writing so much text that needs to be deleted. – Jonesey95 (talk) 23:15, 3 November 2022 (UTC)

@Jonesey95 Thank you for your note today. The wiki-article is now under 3,000 words, per your request, although the preferred KB editorial parameter is undetermined. I have also retained the edited content for additional contributions elsewhere. I'm uncertain what you're referring to as "a master's thesis or research paper than a Wikipedia article." I do not intend to advance a thesis with predominantly primary sources. To that end, I deleted quotes from the book and inserted content from scholarly assessments of said book. If you wish me to replace all quotes from the book with such assessments, please let me know. I am still condensing the background section and I'm not finished with certain sections, i.e., the last section, etc. I hope to include a "Style/Genre" section as well. Any assistance in this regard would be greatly appreciated. Have a nice evening. Bustamove1 (talk) 06:25, 4 November 2022 (UTC)
Thank you. I don't know if Wikipedia has a specific style guide for writing about nonfiction books, but Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Novels is a good guide for a parallel set of topics and could be used as a rough outline. – Jonesey95 (talk) 13:10, 4 November 2022 (UTC)
I used the WikiProject Books suggested wiki-article outline as a header template because it covers both fiction and non-fiction. I will similarly use the provided content examples in the Novels outline header "Themes" instead of "Style" as models for that section's content. That is, "Themes" corresponds more with the section content than "Style." Many thanks. Bustamove1 (talk) 04:13, 5 November 2022 (UTC)
