Character list is unsourced and not independently notable from the main series. Perhaps a few things should be merged (if necessary) but the rest of it is primary source stuff outside the scope of a generalist encyclopedia such as ours. czar 02:03, 14 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Unmerged it as there wasn't really any proper discussion on the matter. Given the vast amount of characters in the franchise, a character article is very much needed. I've added references to the official sites' character pages for official sources on character background. Wonchop (talk) 16:41, 4 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Criticism section sorely missing from the article.[edit]

There should be a criticism section in this article. For example it is widely alleged that Idolmaster ravaged the Vocaloid scene by luring over many fans to an easier and idler, self-defiling kind of passtime. (In contrast, programming and fine-tuning vocaloid voices to create enjoyable songs is a complicated and really time consuming process). Some even accuse IDM of single-handedly causing the decline of Vocaloid creative phenomenon (*), which just afew years ago was at the forefront of global "Cool Japan" PR movement.

(*) Severe decline of Vocaloid scene has been confirmed by the recent Magical Mirai 2017 event's official theme song "Hachi's Sand Planet" in which Hatsune Miku verbosely begs and prays to former fans to return and produce songs for her and the other vocaloid personas. 82.131.155.112 (talk) 13:57, 9 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Or Vocaloid, like any trend, has simply declined as time goes on. Trying to blame that on The Idolmaster really isn't gonna work unless there was some concrete, reliably-sourced evidence to back that up.-- 19:31, 9 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
