Different American Lyrics

I had always heard this version of "The Internationale" in the U.S.

"Arise, ye prisoners of starvation!/Arise, ye wretched of the earth!/For justice thunders condemnation,/A better world's in birth!/No more Tradition's chains shall bind us,/Arise, ye slaves no more in thrall!/The earth shall rise on new foundations,/We have been naught, we shall be all./'Tis the final conflict,/Let each stand in his place./The Internationale/Shall be the human race."

The Hunt for Red October

In the film, the Red October crew sing the State Anthem of the Soviet Union, not The Internationale. The reference here should be removed.

Anarchists and The Internationale

Hello. I wanted to request that anarchism be added to the list of movements that sing the Internationale. The original French song was written by a Proudhonist, and it's also been celebrated by anarchists after Pottier. For example, in the accounts of the International Anarchist Congress of Amsterdam in 1907 compiled by historian Maurizio Antonioli, we find descriptions like this:

"A round of applause greets these vibrant words. Enthusiasm is at its greatest. The faces of all are lit with joy. A comrade then sings the Internationale:

“Debout, les damnés de la terre! Debout, les forçats de la faim!”''
