Origin of the word "Gonzo"

That Cardoso quote was not the first use of the word Gonzo. The word Gonzo comes from a jazz song that Thompson used to love. He shared a room with a writer in Puerto Rico who used to call him "The Gonzo Man" because Thompson played the song all the time. It's in "Gonzo", the oral history book edited by Jann Wenner. 193.38.100.250 (talk) 19:53, 11 May 2010 (UTC) Yail Bloor[reply]

Broken Link[edit]

It appears that the External Link to the text of the article is broken. Does anyone have an updated link? Joshua Nicholson (talk) 08:26, 27 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

We can only provide a link if doing so doesn't violate the copyright of others. It looks like the old link was to Ralph Steadman's web site, but even that seems borderline since he probably doesn't own the copyright over the actual text; it probably shouldn't have been there in the first place. I've simply removed the external link for now. Regards, Orange Suede Sofa (talk) 15:02, 27 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
