Gameplay section
[edit]There are some problems/questions with the Gameplay section in its current form:
- "The greater majority of gameplay mechanics revolve around use of motion controls: these include camera control with the Nunchuck" While the camera is controlled with the Nunchuk, it is NOT done so with motion controls.
- "The Nunchuck is also used to initiate forward roles." What does this mean? I've never heard of the term "forward roles." Does that mean it makes Link walk around?
- The first paragraph states that the game revolves around motion controls, but these aren't really explored until the third paragraph. Should we dedicate a paragraph to controlling Link/motion controls?
- "Some items and equipment will degrade and eventually break if they are used improperly, such as the shield taking damage when blocking fails." Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't shields the only item that breaks? If so, this sentence can be simplified.

There's Clearly Some Bias Against Skyward Sword In This Article
[edit]A minority of displeased fans and a few professional reviewers does not equate to widespread criticism. The game won multiple awards as well as various user polls for game of the year when it came out, including user polls for IGN and Screwattack. It's like when Rian Johnson said Star Wars The Empire Strikes Back was "roasted" by the critics and divided audiences when in reality only three publications gave the film a negative review and the film was voted by the public to win the Favorite Motion Picture Award at the 7th People's Choice Awards. It seems like an attempt at a negative spin on what actually happened.
I'm just saying the whole "the criticism of Skyward Sword influenced Breath of the Wild's development" is a negatively worded statement. Almost all follow-ups of a piece of work, in any creative medium, are at least somewhat influenced by the reception of the past works, both positive and negative. This includes other Zelda games like how Skyward Sword was influenced by how some people didn't like Twilight Princess' art style and how the latter game felt like a retread of Ocarina of Time. Does that mean Twilight Princess' legacy should be that of a game that received "widespread criticism"?
It just feels like the person who wrote the article has a bias against the game and wants to make the game's legacy seem worse than it actually is. Even if the person who wrote the article didn't personally like the game a quick look at the user scores on various websites show that Skyward Sword shows that the "widespread criticism" is more of an outlier of actual the game's fan reception than this article would have you believe.
