Notability

[edit]

Why does this episode, and darned near this episode alone of this entire series, have a separate article, telling us absolutely nothing useful that the entry at List of The Big Bang Theory episodes (season 4) does not? The fact that it had an arguably notable guest star doesn't make the episode itself magically notable in its own right. Nothing in the article suggests that it was nominated for a major award, originated a noteworthy controversy, or otherwise needs an article here. There are way, way too many pointless pseudo-articles on WP about non-notable TV episodes. WP is not IMDb. The sources cited - user-edited or otherwise non-reliable bloggish review sites by non-professional writers, and simple bare-facts TV listings, do not appear to help establish notability. The show itself is obviously notable, but not every TV show needs an independent article per episode, especially when the content of the program itself is so trivial (it's a very funny show, but it barely has any continuity, and most of the continuity it has is entirely circular hook-up-break-up-hook-up-break-up, or "Wil Wheaton, or someone else the audience will enjoy, guest-stars and makes a fool of Sheldon, who would make a fool of himself if not for the guest star"). In short, this is not an encyclopedic page, it's a fannish trivia page that exists simply to exist. I didn't just take this straight to WP:AFD because of the off chance that someone has a "this is a really important, noteworthy episode because [insert reason here], and here are several non-lameass sources confirming that" rationale up their sleeve. — SMcCandlish   Talk⇒ ɖ∘¿¤þ   Contrib. 10:39, 19 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
