Fair use rationale for Image:Sturges3.jpg
Image:Sturges3.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Section in re Seven and Samurai
I very reluctantly added the OR tag (as well as the overall ref lacking tag) today. I would really welcome this section sprouting some cites. This is one of my favourite films, and I'd love to see this taken care of. Cordially, Drieux 07:50, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
- made appropriate changes and removed tag (forgot to log in tho, so it looks anon) — Demong talk 22:26, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
Yes
This article claims that the prog band Yes used part of this film's score on one of its albums. I've not been able to find proof of this anywhere, and whoever wrote it did not provide a citation. Can someone be more specific as when they used the score (on what song or album)? Otherwise that should probably be deleted. Prezuiwf (talk) 19:00, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
Location?
A number of references cite (the state of) Morelos, Mexico as the location used for The Magnificent Seven. There are reference to a location used on the US/Mexican border, also (most likely referring to Morelos, Agua Prieta, SON, Mexico just south of Douglas, AZ, USA).
The question at hand is regarding the appearance of the Agavaceae Yucca brevifolia Engelm, better know as a Joshua Tree. In a number of scenes this plant is prominently shown and adds great texture to the composition. The Joshua tree growing area is mainly the high desert of the Mojave. While there are different varieties of the Yuccas found in the Southwest, this plant in the movie creates a desire to find better confirmation of the location.

Seven Samurai remake?
Should this article mention the proposed Seven Samurai remake, or should that remain in the Seven Samurai article? Cactusjump (talk) 00:08, 1 October 2008 (UTC)
- No. Yes. B00P (talk) 09:06, 8 February 2009 (UTC)
Films based on this one and SS
Shouldn't there be a link to films like Battle Beyond the Stars and A Bug's Life, which are based on this plot of TMS and SS? Mathewignash (talk) 14:07, 13 November 2009 (UTC)
There were no unanimous decision in previous discussion, whether to merge this article or to keep it with further expanding and fullfilling. -- SerdechnyG (talk) 08:04, 18 March 2010 (UTC) As I suggested then, other characters Vin and Chico, are definatly significant, but they wasn't such popular in russian-speaking world like O'Reilly and Britt. We must take it into account, that in different countries popularity of each single character was also different. -- SerdechnyG (talk) 08:13, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
- I made a compromise close; it's discussed further on my talk p. DGG ( talk ) 17:49, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
- ATTENTION! TO ALL M7 FANS: I've created an article User:SerdechnyG/Bernardo O'Reilly, and those of you, who are disagree with merging it to the Magnificent Seven article, or have some interesting information, can share it, and help me to improve this article and contest the merger. -- SerdechnyG (talk) 19:38, 23 March 2010 (UTC)
- This merger was duly decided in an AfD. If you disagree, you can go to DRV (deletion review). --Crusio (talk) 20:38, 23 March 2010 (UTC)
- I've allready expressed my disagreement (above) right before you cut it. After article would be expanded and fullfilled with souced information - I'll go to the DRV. -- SerdechnyG (talk) 19:13, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
- Why concentrate on paring off information for separate (and apparently non-notable) character articles when the production section for the film itself is so bare? Alastairward (talk) 23:17, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
Seven Samurai vs Magnificent Seven (Section)
This section seems to be nothing more than original research. It also contributes nothing to both movies as they are entirely different productions. The section is trying too hard to credit differences but Sturges was not making a shot-for-shot remake but a Western based on the Japanese story. A credit that is given at the start of the MS film.
The whole section smacks of "he said, they said" making it border almost on the trivial because there can be no limit to the comparisons however inane! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.35.226.167 (talk) 20:54, 7 June 2010 (UTC)
