Edith Evans role in 1940[edit]
This article states that Edith Evans rejected the role of the heroine in 1936, (the citation comes from what looks like a book of gossip) but in the article on Edith Evans it states that she played the role in 1940. I believe it was on tour - does anyone have more information on this? ixo (talk) 13:32, 16 February 2014 (UTC)
Also it seems it was due to transfer to the Globe Theatre (now the Gielgud) in 1940 after touring in the provinces, but due to the Blitz this did not go ahead. Looking at the time-line of plays on the theatre website there is a gap in plays between 1940 and 1942 at the Globe/Gielgud during this time. ixo (talk) 14:24, 16 February 2014 (UTC)
