Fair use rationale for Image:The music man screenshot.jpg

[edit]

Image:The music man screenshot.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Who teaches the boys?

[edit]

The article states that Marian secretly taught the boys to play their instruments. It's my recollection that while it may not be stated overtly, it's implied that Tommy Djilas (who had been appointed Hill's assistant) had led the secret practices. --Piledhigheranddeeper (talk) 23:23, 6 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Looks like that has been rightfully removed. I just viewed the film, and there's no hint as to Marian secretly teaching the boys. And I wouldn't say there's any implication that Tommy did so, either -- that would be just conjecture. One should have faith in the Think System :) . Pool table ploy mis-described as a "red herring"

[edit]

The second paragraph of the Plot section describes Hill's ploy (inciting fear of the town's new pool table) as a "red herring". That's not accurate -- a red herring is intended to distract from the truth. The ploy is actually to conjure up a bogeyman (which Hill then offers to defeat), but I can't think of a concise adjective just now. BMJ-pdx (talk) 03:11, 25 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
