Poem vs. animal focus and relationship to Rhinogradentia[edit]

For posterity (in case the question arises again), there is a thread at the WikiProject Poetry talk page concerning this article. The permalink for the discussion as it exists when I'm posting this is here. — Rhododendrites talk \\ 19:37, 27 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

We can continue the discussion here. Summary: The enwiki article is about the poem itself, while the dewiki, barwiki and lbwiki articles are about the animal described by the poem (though especially for barwiki and lbwiki, the difference lies mostly in the first sentence). The problem is that all four articles were linked to the same Wikidata item (Nasobame (Q7753113)), which is incorrect because the animal and the poem are different things and should thus have different Wikidata items.
My proposed solution to this problem was to rephrase the introduction to the enwiki article so that it too would nominally be about the animal (though most of the article would be about the poem, as on lbwiki). I proposed this on the WikiProject Poetry talk page, but failed to mention it here, since I didn’t think anyone would see it. Sorry about that.
After almost a month, when no one had responded on the WikiProject Poetry talk page (and the thread was soon going to be archived), I made the change. It was swiftly reverted by Rhododendrites. Taken aback by this fast revert of a change that I had believed no one would be interested in, I was a bit rude on the WikiProject talk page; sorry again.
I have now implemented an alternate solution to the original problem and moved the enwiki link from Nasobame (Q7753113) (the animal) to The Nasobame (Q19149635) (the poem). This is also conceptually correct as far as Wikidata is concerned, but it leaves the minor problem that the sitelinks between enwiki and the other three wikis are now gone. —Galaktos (talk) 10:33, 28 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
