Can You Tell Me[edit]

Does anyone know where the song "Can You Tell Me" came from? Mrwuggs 21:38, 28 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

After emailing the band a copy of the song, I discovered that its correct title is "Can You Tell Me One Thing," and that it was a song recorded but not released "a couple years ago," assmumably during the Sinking Hearts sessions. Mrwuggs 22:52, 1 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Does anyone have digetal copies of any of the Full Sketch stuff? It is impossible to find. Also, I would like to hear "Let the Bells Ring" and the "Memorize the City" remix, so email me at thallidstu@yahoo.com if you can help. Mrwuggs 02:21, 4 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"Let the Bells Ring" is available on the iTunes Music Store as a download single...Luceo 10:45, 2 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

On the French CD release of Grab That Gun, which remix appears, the Simon Bookish, Dustin Hawthorne, or a third unknowm remix? Regardless, I haven't been able to get ahold of any of the remixes, so again, if someone has it, please share. BTW, anyone who wants to hear "Can You Tell Me One Thing" can drop me an email. Inaccurately compared to the Smiths!? Are you nuts???[edit]

I can't believe the author of this had the gaul to say that the Organ doesn't sound like the Smiths. The singer sounds EXACTLY like Morissey, and the guitar player literally uses Johnny Marr riffs in their songs. The Organ are well-known and popular now so let's drop the nonsense and admit the obvious. I can understand if you don't agree that it's a rip-off, but claiming that there is no comparison is absolutely absurd. People have accused a thousand bands of ripping off Pearl Jam just for taking Eddie's voice, the Organ takes it several steps further and just takes the whole band.

Also, when you're signed to Nickleback's record label (604) you're not "indie" anymore.

Admittedly, it would be unrealistic to say that the Organ do not sound like The Smiths; they're a clear influence. But I think it would be a similar case to say that they just "take the whole band", as there are differences... Katie Sketch's lyrics are highly introspective for one, whilst Morrissey usually lent toward more political subjects for lyrics. Luceo 10:45, 2 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The Organ, especially Katie, have often expressed an aversion to being compared to bands like the Cure and the Smiths. I sympathize; one really can't play understated alt. pop anymore without drawing fire from that direction. Also, anyone who is concerned as to whether or not the band is properly "indie" or not needs to get over themselves and quit acting like a self-important 9th grader.

Conversely, any Organ fan looking for like-minded groups should check out Scotland's Twee-pop scene circa the early to mid 80s. Bands like The Pastels and The Vaselines share an important influence with our favorite Canadian quintet: The Shaggs. Any Lo-Fi fan will tell you that the slightly cracked naivety of the Wiggan family paved the way like no other band since the Velvet Underground. Also, check out the bouncy post-punk of the swiss-wave band "Kleenex" sometimes known as "Liliput." Mrwuggs 20:44, 31 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Bellsring.JPG[edit]

Image:Bellsring.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 02:03, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

LGBT?[edit]

There's nothing in this article that mentions anyone in the band's sexual orientation... so I'm wondering, where does the LGBT classification come from? Please add something about it to the article if you know. Avalyn 16:42, 25 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Solo Project[edit]

Just for the fans, both Deborah and Shmoo have started solo projects. You can find Deborah's released material at http://www.myspace.com/loverslovehaters and Shmoo's at http://www.myspace.com/diecowboydie. Cheers, --142.177.29.210 (talk) 03:04, 6 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Assessment[edit]

Knocked down to a Start because it lacks inline citations. Zytsef (talk) 01:23, 9 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I changed the ratings to "C" for all 3 projects. The article still lacks inline citations. PKT(alk) 16:20, 20 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Guitars Used[edit]

I looked through Flickr, and I think the guitarists used the following: Ashley played a Danelectro Rumor Bass, Deb played Fender Telecasters, and Shmoo played a Fender Mustang Bass. Reslo79 (talk) 18:37, 27 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
