Critics vs viewers?[edit]

Is there a particular reason in that the RT panning by critics is mentioned but overwhelmingly positive fan reaction isn't when both are mentioned when talking about Metacritic? JamesG5 (talk) 05:57, 30 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah because shills, hacks and frauds are paid off by the studios to castigate the show, because the audience likes it better than new “Star Trek” Glen Gormley (talk) 05:58, 22 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

WP:USERGENERATED content such as from user voted web polls (or other wikis) is not normally allowed because they are not reliable sources.
There are rare exceptions: The_Orville#Audience_response, and even then only after many reverts and a long boring discussion Talk:The_Orville#RT_and_Metacritic_audience_scores was there a consensus to allow audience scores to be included but only because there were reliable sources pointing out the unusually large difference between the critics scores and the audiences scores.
DO NOT add audience scores to this article, leave them to the main article for The Orville.
Rotten Tomatoes is a crude tool. Many of the critics listed reviewed the first three episodes only but Rotten Tomatoes presents the scores as if they reviewed the whole season. Not everyone likes Seth MacFarlane's humor, and that's fine, plenty of people do and the show found it's audience. -- 109.77.195.61 (talk) 06:20, 26 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
