Rationale for "The Pedlar's Pack" Sections[edit]

  • I wanted to add the side box for "The Pedlar's Pack" because I believe the box reveals the important basic, yet necessary information for any reader that may come across the article.
  • The reason I added a character list section was to help readers promptly assess who is involved in the fairy tale.
  • I believe that the see also section is an easy way for readers to navigate to the other stories written by Mary De Morgan, and which also have articles on wikipedia.
  • I think the overall presentation of the article is important which is why the article was categorized specifically, for maximum efficiency and organization, starting with a concise introduction, followed by the plot summary, author biography, character list, see also, and ending with the sources collected.

Intended Section for "The Pedlar's Pack"[edit]

  • I wanted to add an adaptation section, a critical reception section and a cultural impact section but did not have scholarly sources to help establish these sections.
  • The final section that I think would help make "The Pedlar's Pack" a valuable resource for readers of the article is an analysis section; however, I was also unable to find any scholarly sources for this section.

Question: Does anyone have any scholarly sources, in terms of the analysis section for "The Pedlar's Pack" or perhaps sources on the author, Mary De Morgan, to help investigate the cultural impact the author and story had? I think the information would help create a more complete and informative wikipedia article.

I would suggest perhaps elaborating more on the Character List page. Maybe give us more of a description of the characters and their personalities. - FourthAce12 — Preceding unsigned comment added by FourthAce12 (talkcontribs) 00:40, 15 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the feedback, FourthAce12. While I would like to give more description on the characters and their personalities, the story did not mention much of their character traits. The assumptions I could make in regards to the animal characters’ personality traits is that their actions in the story are humanly, not just because they speak, but because of their ideals and intentions. The only reason they helped each other was because of the payment they expected to receive; none of their actions were altruistic. Yffub15 (talk) 19:42, 15 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I would suggest a strong introduction leaving out the detail that should be added in the summary. The introduction should talk about the author, publisher, publication date and any other information about the short story that should be noted about its accomplishments. "Character List" Section[edit]

Since the characters were included in the summary I find it unnecessary to have another section listing them. Consider removing. Cattface (talk) 00:42, 15 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
