Separate Season 2 and 3 article

[edit]

Hi all and as requested by User:Seokgjin, I believe we should separate Season 2 and 3 into separated articles rather than lumping all of them together inside Season 1 article. In addition, there isn't evidence that S2 and S3 title would carry the sub-heading "War in Life" as S1 may be about "War in Life" (if you watch the series, maybe you would know what I mean. I can't explain very clearly). In addition, the airing days and time slot would also be different as S2 is planned/scheduled to air on Friday and Saturday at 22:00 KST. Of course, S3 is also planned for the same airing day and time slot, however that's subjected to changes as it's still far away (S2 is planned to finish in March 6 if there's no pushback, after which another drama will aired to be followed by Taxi Driver in April).

Benefits of having separated article, make it easier to read and understand, and is also cleaner. Also, the reception section, wouldn't be very messy (imagine lumping 3 charts together and 3 table with more than 12 rows together). Not to forgot, OST section, labeling S2 soundtrack to start from Part 4 seem very stupid. And of course, we can just separate it into another section, making it even messier. Not to forgot, the awards and nominations section would also be messy if they happen to win in 2021 SBS Drama Awards, how are we going to differentiate between S2 and S3 nominations provided S3 is airing in 2021 as well. – Paper9oll (📣📝) 13:14, 6 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Here are the reasons why I don't think we should separate seasons: 1) It's not a problem if the name is slightly different (example: Anne with an E), we already know that all seasons are titled The Penthouse so we could change it to that name and mention at the top of the article the three different subtitles for each season. 2) I don't think people care if the series airs on a Monday or on a Saturday, as long as they know the airing date. We can mention the time slot change in the "Production" section though. 3) I don't believe that separating seasons would actually make it clearer and cleaner: why not construct one article in a proper way that would be both clear and clean? It's usually the case for other television series, I don't see why this one should be different. 4) For the reception part, we can keep the tables hidden and summarize the ratings (lowest rating, highest rating and average rating), it's not like most people are highly interested in each episode's rating, especially since we now also have a graph with the number of viewers per episode. 5) The OST section can be separated into categories (see Chief of Staff), or hidden once the album is released (see It's Okay to Not Be Okay). 6) The awards and nominations section would not be messy since a new year would be added under "2020". -- Seokgjin (talk) 13:52, 6 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Seokgjin: I added series overview. However, I change my mind and however now I think we should rename the article to The Penthouse (South Korean TV series) instead.

Possible spoilers

[edit]

In the character description, I’m wondering if there is some information that are spoilers to those who haven’t watched the show yet Bethanytlai (talk) 17:18, 16 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Bethanytlai: As per Wikipedia:Spoiler, there is nothing wrong with that. Paper9oll (🔔📝) 02:37, 30 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, got it. Bethanytlai (talk) 21:03, 1 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Splitting the list of characters into a new article

[edit]

There is too many details in the section, given the show's nature of having three seasons running and a large number of plot details and twists contained in the section and development of characters, as well as their personalities

For me, i would be inclined to separate them NelsonLee20042020 (talk) 13:53, 6 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose: The section needs cleanup instead. Currently that section violated couple of WP:NOT guidelines. Paper9oll (🔔📝) 14:05, 6 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Plot summary "inaccurate"

[edit]

I have already corrected one issue which I noticed immediately. The story is very complicated, so be really careful how you go about trying to summarise it in a few lines. 81.101.239.132 (talk) 00:33, 2 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I have now decided to completely remove it. If it cannot be agreed upon as to what is correct, it is best not included at all. Again, watch the show properly, do not just guess the plot because you would like to believe it to be true !! 81.101.239.132 (talk) 05:09, 3 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I have reworded the section title to be more precise in which it was previously named incorrectly. However, you don't have WP:CONSENSUS to remove the sentence in question. In addition, as a viewer of every single episode for all three seasons, I don't see that the sentence in question is "inaccurate". If you feel that it's "inaccurate" then it's your onus to justify on why it's such and propose what it should be reworded to. I don't find your reasoning given and previous changes compelling hence you would need to explain further on why you think so as such (clearly "the story is very complicated" is insufficient nor compelling) and provide a new proposed changes instead.
