National myth of the Second World War[edit]

This is a strange article. "The book addresses what Hitchens regards as the national myth of the Second World War..." Well, do tell us what Hitchens takes the "national myth of the Second World War" to be! 31.52.255.74 (talk) 22:00, 18 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Is Peter Hitchens' personal blog deprecated?[edit]

Hi @David Gerard:, You removed a link to Peter Hitchens' personal blog, describing it as "unduly self-aggrandising use of deprecated source". I know the Daily Mail (and Mail on Sunday) are deprecated, but does this extend to Hitchens' blog hosted on a subdomain? If Hitchens' response were posted on his (hypothetical) personal website, would that make a difference? I know that in general we don't link to blogs, but linking in this case seems appropriate to me. Evans writes a review of Hitchens' book; Hitchens responds. Without the response, the Wikipedia article presents the reader with a misleading slant. (Also, there seemed to me nothing "self-aggrandising" about the use of the source.) For what it's worth, I thought Sir Richard Evans' review was bizarre. Evans clearly agrees with most of what Hitchens had to say, but his personal dislike of Hitchens is so great that he didn't notice they were in agreement. cagliost (talk) 08:39, 30 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
