Sequel?

[edit]

This is an excellent story as it stands, but I vaguely recall at least one sequel, where Earth, now with faster than light and antigravity technology, go into space. With the "road not taken" technologies of the industrial and information revolutions, the Earth vessels are godlike, but with wisdom.

Anyone know the reference? Howard C. Berkowitz (talk) 21:19, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The only sequel I know of is Herbig-Haro. Where the remnants of a Terran confederacy, having collapsed due to infighting, encounters another, also quite advanced, empire. Unfortunately, there isn't much of the story, though it is still quite interesting. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Alpha3031 (talkcontribs) 09:56, 9 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Herbig-Haro gives us some details. "The Road Not Taken" takes place in 2039 and in the 1200 years since then all the species humanity encountered "reached what the old Terrans would have called a seventeenth-century technological level" and stopped there because it "did what was needed". Then humanity discovers the Zanat who have also taken the 'The Road less traveled' resulting them getting on par with mid 20th century Earth...and they have FTL capability as well.--2606:A000:7D44:100:45B7:FF48:7CBC:4502 (talk) 13:36, 12 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
