Name?

[edit]

I was wondering if "The Simpsons Movie (soundtrack)" was the right title for the page. The title on the album cover is "The Simpsons Movie: The Music", so perhaps it should be changed to that. -- Scorpion0422 01:42, 26 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've moved the page. Gran2 16:51, 6 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A second album?

[edit]

I remember seeing once source mention that a second soundtrack (filled with songs by random artists as opposed to the film score) would be released, is there a reason why that isn't mentioned here? -- Scorpion0422 01:43, 26 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That was the album that was just a rumour. So until the is any confirmation from Fox, it doesn't exist, which seems to be the case anyway. Gran2 06:15, 26 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Not a rumour, a hoax; which was made by a known vandal. I still find it funny that his trick backfired. --AAA! (AAAA) 00:39, 27 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No, not the "UPN Vandal", there was an article that said another album would be released. -- Scorpion0422 02:45, 27 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Oh. Disregard that then. --AAA! (AAAA) 06:01, 27 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
But its still very unlikely, I mean.. why would there be a complete orchestral soundtrack, and a complete soundtrack of songs as well. But I don't know, until its confirmed by Fox its just a rumour. Gran2 06:05, 27 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
So I guess this "rumor" isn't worthy of being in the article. I thought it was pretty funny, wasn't trying to vandalize. 128.91.109.253 18:37, 31 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
What you're adding is not a rumour, it's a hoax. It's not worthy of being posted, so go away. -- Scorpion0422 18:40, 31 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Track 16

[edit]

Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but can anyone confirm this track exists? I've checked a few other track listings and none of them mention it. - Alanuk245

I have a copy of it. I downloaded the album from iTunes. I also got Green Day performing the Theme but they didn't come together. 208.1.21.2 (talk) 15:57, 24 November 2007 (UTC)Benjamin[reply]

Spider Pig merge

[edit]

I really think the page is unnecessary, because there are no sources and I highly doubt that the article could ever make it past a stub. If anyone can find good production info for it, then maybe, but as it is now, it's unnecessary. -- Scorpion0422 18:46, 19 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's common place to give successful singles release their own entry. This is no different. (Djungelurban 14:26, 24 August 2007 (UTC))[reply]
Just because its commonplace, it doesn't mean that it is necessary. Maybe it did chart, but it can easily be mentioned in this article. Giving a song a page just because it enjoyed minor chart success doesn't make much sense. -- Scorpion0422 15:11, 24 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Correct Titles

[edit]

I've only seen the movie once but while listening to the music and reading the song titles I was wondering if there was some misnamed titles. For instance, the track titled "Release The Hounds" sounds an awful lot like the music being played during the naked skateboarding scene where Bart's doodle was exposed...making me think "Bart's Doodle" might be the intended title. While on that subject, when you play the track titled "Bart's Doodle" you hear the Disney-esque love making music that takes place in Alakska, right after Homer tells Lisa to "Clap For Alaska". Maybe my memory and ears are playing tricks on me. Can anyone else confirm this for me? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.1.21.2 (talk) 15:43, 24 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think you're right. I had only seen the movie once, but after that I listened to the soundtrack intensely and was convinced that the love-dovey music was the music played when Bart skateboards, but when I watched the movie again I was surprised to find it in totally different place in the movie then suggested by the soundtrack's track titles! Someone's made a big mistake here, I think... --116.240.236.112 (talk) 09:50, 20 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
