POV

[edit]

Removed unsupported opinion: "The Smallest Show on Earth has a reputation as a generally well-regarded British comedy and this is because of the character performances of Rutherford, Sellers and Miles as the three old eccentrics; but of the three, only Rutherford (named Mrs. Fazackalee) was genuinely old and eccentric, whereas Sellers (who was 32 at the time) and Miles were heavily made up to be old, and their eccentricities such as they are seem manufactured. Rutherford, alone, is almost worth the price of admission." Clarityfiend 04:55, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Smallest show on earth.jpg

[edit]

Image:Smallest show on earth.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Problems with credit for George Cross in this film

[edit]

The actor George Cross is credited as playing the role of the commissionaire at The Grand. I find it unlikely as he died in 1949 and The Smallest Show on Earth was made in 1957. However, I can find no other actor with the same name so I have deduced that a mistake has occurred, either in identifying of the actor or in the failure to list another actor called George Cross, which would be possible regarding Equity rules. Only after an actor has died, can another actor bearing the same name, legally be credited under said name. It would be nice to have the right actor credited for his part in this film for reasons of courtesy as well as accuracy. MadgeWildwood (talk) 18:41, 2 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
