Restoration

[edit]

National Yiddish Theater Folksbiene is reviving and restoring the play as of Fall 2017. It is probable that the restoration process will take 1 – 3 years, though that is an assumption. The work is to be brought up to contemporary standards of an operetta including a full score for an orchestra of 5–10, full script for the cast (previous versions of the script existed only for certain actors), and modifications of the length to make it palatable for contemporary audiences (full version is repetitive and is over 3 hours in length). [1] I hope to be updating this page as more information about the restoration is published. In the meantime, will describe what I know in the talk sections. Change Title?

[edit]

Should we (wikipedia contributors) change the title of this page? The National Yiddish Theater Folksbiene is reviving the play, giving it new life under the name The Sorceress or De Kishefmacherin. What do people think? Yaakov bressler (talk) 15:36, 27 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
