Article
[edit]I restarted this article from a redirect, but now see that there was an article here before. (I am surprised there was nothing in this talk page). I think there ought to be an article for the series as there are already articles for several of the characters. -- Beardo (talk) 01:45, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
List of Supernatural creatures?
[edit]I am hoping to write a more complete list of all the supes in the Sookie Stackhouse universe (Goblins, dwarves, demons, britlingens etc.). I was wondering should I put it on this page or make a separate page. Im asking permission now because I dont want someone deleting it half an hour after I create it Bosco (talk) 14:06, 17 November 2009 (UTC)
- At most, I agree with your idea of adding an "other" races section to the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Southern_Vampire_Mysteries#The_Sookie_Stackhouse_Novels_Universe I was surprised they weren't already there. Considering how little detail is available to date, imho it doesn't lend itself to a separate page. So far we have only met the (half?) demon cataliades, his demon nieces glad and diantha, the goblin bouncer at club dead, and dr. ludwig of yet-unidentified race, lol. I've not read the separate story about the Britlingens, and I don't know if that is beyond the southern vampires universe. But the details on all of the Sookie-universe races are pretty sketchy, aren't they? So, yeah. Tkech (talk) 12:33, 18 May 2010 (UTC)
Were/Supe chart?
[edit]What is up with this chart? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Southern_Vampire_Mysteries#Weres_and_Shapeshifters I can't make out the point, and it actually says right in the article "(some of the info above is unfinished)". Seems to me this should be removed until it's "ready" in some way. I see that it's quite recent (13 May), by an IP address rather than an account. Is the person still working on it? Would they be willing to remove it until it is finished? Tkech (talk) 12:44, 18 May 2010 (UTC)
- Followup Note - someone kindly removed the chart, thanks. Tkech (talk) 16:26, 1 June 2010 (UTC)
Could someone add a photo?
[edit]It would nice to have a photo, but I'm not sure about the legal/copyright things, so I don't dare to add one that is straight from the internet. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.115.159.131 (talk) 13:57, 28 May 2010 (UTC)
template?
[edit]Could someone add the List of The Southern Vampire Mysteries characters to the template which appears on all the related articles? Also, Gran needs to be linked to List of The Southern Vampire Mysteries characters#Adele_Hale_Stackhouse rather than the True Blood characters article. I don't know how to do this properly and don't want to break it. Thanks. Tkech (talk) 01:44, 21 June 2010 (UTC)
ok. sounds fair. done. Severenika (talk) 18:39, 18 September 2011 (UTC)
"The Sookie Stackhouse novels' universe"
[edit]Does anyone else think that "The Southern Vampire Mysteries' Universe" (SVM universe) sounds better? If so, I'll change it.-- TyrS chatties 02:51, 10 May 2011 (UTC)
Are you talking about the actual section on the page? If so, I don't know if it sounds better but it would go with the title of the page. Maybe less confusing for people who has never read the books. Program Death (talk) 04:57, 11 May 2011 (UTC)
The reference to Sookie sound absolutely normal for me. The Mysteries are already mentioned in the main heading and I think people will find Sookie's name more familiar (we do like newcomers, don't we?)Severenika (talk) 18:11, 18 September 2011 (UTC)
- I think the whole "The Southern Vampire Mysteries" vs "sookie stackhouse novel" issue needs more explanation. I've never heard of "the southern vampire mysteries", but that may be because I'm in the UK and they're being marketed differently here. Or were they originally published under one series of names and that has changed, and changed again because of the TV series? Whatever has happened, it would help the article to explain it and to totally avoid the argument over which is "best". GDallimore (Talk) 01:35, 29 December 2011 (UTC)
Is the author column nesecssary for the tables?
[edit]Considering they all contain the same exact info, it will save a lot of space and make the page a lot less clunky to simply remove the bazillion repeat entries of Charlaine Harris and just note she wrote all the books.72.89.142.128 (talk) 05:24, 16 September 2011 (UTC)
- As far as we give all the data about the actual publications it is necessary to mention the author. Does it really bother you so much? Severenika (talk) 18:15, 18 September 2011 (UTC)
- She is mentioned as author. In the very first line of the article. The excellent point being made is that you don't need to mention her again on every single line of the table. It's certainly overkill to link each incident of her name. GDallimore (Talk) 01:38, 29 December 2011 (UTC)
- Not that I care so much about the author mentioned everywhere. And the problem has been solved as far as I can see. I am all in the club of those not liking unnecessary repetitions of data, which brings me to the following issue... Severenika (talk) 19:48, 12 January 2012 (UTC)
Why the whole lot of repetative information in 'Chronological order'?
[edit]Why should we have all the publication data in this list if we already have it all in the specialised section?
More to it: in that mentioned section there is some additional information about the stories that aren't Sookie-related. And in the specialised Dahlia article there is actually the time line which is as detailed and accurate as it can go. And the distribution of the Dahlia stories here is chronologically wrong.
I think what we need here is Chronological order of Sookie-related stories, which are by the way listed chronologically wrong now unlike they were just a month ago. Severenika (talk) 20:03, 12 January 2012 (UTC)
- That was just copying from the author's wiki-page without thinking. I'm undoing it. Severenika (talk) 20:09, 12 January 2012 (UTC)
