Remove the Spoiler

[edit]

I originally wrote the article for "The Unknown" (under my earlier name "Powersman") and I think we're doing readers a disservice with the plot spoiler, which in this case really serves no function that I can see aside from literally spoiling the film for anyone who hasn't seen it. The shock of watching the story unfold on the screen is amazing, and I think it's a mistake to destroy the power of that with the spoiler paragraph here (I know, people don't have to read the spoiler, but we all know that practically everybody does).

Really? I don't know how many millions or billions "Titanic" grossed, but do You think the people who saw it were surprised by the sinking of the ship? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.180.103.231 (talk) 13:43, 7 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Date of Release

[edit]

Wanted to know what source the June 4, 1927 release date comes from. From The Films of Lon Chaney (ISBN 1-56833-237-8), it's listed as June 13, 1927. Joe JJC 22:02, 5 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Theunknownchaney.jpg

[edit]

Image:Theunknownchaney.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
