Re: Upsetters Mk1.vs Mk.2

[edit]

I changed The Hippy Boys article a seperate one, because The Upsetters aren't the same as The Hippy Boys. Ouagadoudou 17:29, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Upsetters Mk1.vs Mk.2

[edit]

I'm just putting up a page on Glen Adams. I read here that in fact The Upsetters Mk.1 were Gladdys All-Stars, and it was they who originally recorded the hits Live Injection and Return Of Django". The Hippy Boys were recruited to (do the UK) tour, and then remained the studio band. I never knew this myself. Glen still plays Live Injection as his signature tune. I noted the above in a comment on The Gleaner's Obit on Glen Adams. I was then contacted by by Glen's biographer Elizabeth Barraclough to say that the information is incorrect, i.e. Adams did play on the records of both Return of Django and Live Injection. If the info is in dispute, and its only sourced to discogs.com it should be modified or removed. Wwwhatsup 11:12 pm, Today (UTC−5)
I invited Ms. Barraclough to comment here, but she has declined, as of now. I see the Trojan Obit makes no mention of these credits. So I guess the info can stand, for now. Wwwhatsup (talk) 07:45, 22 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
