Caribbean?

I am curious how SPM is related to the Caribbean. I see the Wikiproject Caribbean heading. 198.53.208.41 (talk) 22:22, 14 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

it shouldn't because these islands are no where near the caribbean, and so i am removing the affiliations. the movie does, however, bring in a family and a guillotine from martinique, but this is not sufficient to warrant identification under these headings. Awards section of article is wrong

[edit]

The current version claims that this film won the Audience Award at the 2000 Toronto International Film Festival. In fact, the winner that year was Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. I believe that The Widow of Saint-Pierre did screen as a gala at TIFF in 2000, but did not win any awards. From archive.org here is the press release announcing all awards: [1]. That link (the official press release) even lists second and third place, but it does not mention The Widow of Saint-Pierre at all. Similarly, here is the article in Variety: [2]. This incorrect information has been in the article since this edit in 2007. I am puzzled how such information made its way into the article and remained there for so long. I have not fact-checked any other information in this article. Mathew5000 (talk) 04:36, 8 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
