Children's Book?[edit]

I disagree completely with this being classified as a children's book. I'd be curious to how many parents of children under ten would let their child read this, much less expect them to understand the concepts provided in the book. The book also has some scenes in it that may be considered innapropriate for a younger audience. I'd be glad to hear your opinions on this.

Pronunciation[edit]

How do you pronounce 'Lowrie'? Is in pronounced 'Laurie', or 'Laa-wrie'? HyperHobbes 15:39, 25 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree that this is a childrens book and I think it should be changed. If someone else reads this and agrees change it. and I read it as 'Laurie'

I disagree. The novel was sold as a children's book, the main characters are almost all children, and, if nothing else, I read it when i was nine and understood it perfectly.Strdst grl (talk) 17:58, 7 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

--- Is there seriously a need for an explanation of the title like that? Surely it would be better to say something like, "Lowrie's wish list, from which the novel gets its name..."?

Minor character?[edit]

Meg Finn is in trouble. Her mother is dead and her only family is an abusive stepfather who does nothing but watch TV all day. She has no friends and is forced to do a job with a dim-witted criminal, Belch Brennan, because he gave her a video camera. When the two are caught robbing an old man, Lowrie McCall, Belch's dog, Raptor, rip's open McCall's leg, harshly injuring it. Struck by remorse, Meg goes out for help. She is then chased by Belch and Raptor, but makes a wrong turn. Belch threatens to shoot Meg, but instead, shoots a gas tank, killing them and sending them off to the "tunnel" that splits in two at the end. One end goes up (to heaven) and the other goes down (to hell). Belch, genetically merged with his dog, Raptor, a pit bull, goes straight to hell. Because Meg performed one good deed right before she died - trying to help Lowrie McCall - her good and bad deeds were perfectly balanced. Meg is sent back to earth to try and tip the balance, by helping old Lowrie.

Meg Finn the one stuck here with here abusive stepfather that sold a man a ring that belong to Meg for a t.v just him to stare right into it all day so she went and brought a video camera for to show how she beat up the t.v with a axe when she was finish beating up the t.v. she then took the t.v from the garage and put that t.v. in the house and took a piece of paper and wrote WATCH THIS TAPE after that she left and Franco woke-up and saw the tape he put in and watched his stepdaughter brake his flat screen t.v. that he had thought that he had brought with the ring that Meg mom got her before she died. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.148.46.28 (talk) 16:45, 25 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
