The Antagonist[edit]

Isn't the antagonist Darryl? I'm assuming the "archetypal shrewish woman" referred to in an earlier version of this article is the minister's wife who keeps spitting up feathers before she is killed--a relatively minor character compared to Darryl.

Factual Accuracy[edit]

Is this based on the film or the novel? The novel seems to be quite different from this in many ways, so maybe two synopses should be included. If I have time, I'll split it up and write one sometime

This page sounds much more like the film than the novel. Alexandra's power is not minor at the beginning of the novel; she can summon thunderstorms. Darryl Van Horne is not "devil-like", but more of an eccentric inventor. The witches don't exile Darryl; his departure from Eastwick is even a surprise to Alexandra. Wow, can't believe that movie summary lasted so long here. It so doesn't match the book. — Laura Scudder 16:14, 8 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Names of Characters[edit]

The names of the characters are Alexandra Medford, Jane Spofford and Sukie Ridgemont.

These are the names in the motion picture, not in the book.
