Release year[edit]

I can find no evidence this single was released in 1983 as opposed to 1984. The sound recording copyright symbol on the vinyl is 1983, but this is probably related to the year it was recorded, not the actual release year.

Discogs lists 1983 as the year for a number of the releases, but I think this is a good example of why Discogs can not be considered a reliable source. For example, [1] this entry lists 1983 when even the images show the Copyright date as 1984. If we are going to refer to user generated sites, 45cat lists records March 1984 as the UK release date and September 1984 as the US release date. These dates match the surrounding releases on the respective labels. For example, Gary Moore's "Hold on to Love" (TEN 13) has a January 1984 release date.

Furthermore, looking on World Radio History, the British Newspaper Archive, Newspapers.com, Archive.org, there are zero results for the song in 1983. Billboard reviews it in Sep 1984 and various UK press review it in Mar 1984. Ajsmith141 (talk) 14:51, 16 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
