How to describe a settlenent?[edit]

I removed some WP:OR from PW like, a "naval base" or "it doesn't meet the requierements" because that is the opinion of the editor and the reader has to read the facts. --Best regards, Keysanger (what?) 12:00, 9 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Merge The southernmost settlements in the world to Southernmost settlements#Southernmost city Klbrain (talk) 20:26, 26 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

In 2012, Keysanger changed the title of this article from "The southernmost city in the world" to "The southernmost settlements in the world" because 'Puerto Williams is not a city'. I am inclined to agree with Keysanger on the latter, but that is not the point. This article is not about the southernmost settlements of the world (including hamlets and research stations). There is already another article about that: Southernmost settlements. This article is about contenders (rightfully or not) for the title "southernmost city in the world". So the present title is incorrect. I see two options:

Merge I agree this title is incorrect and I don't think this designation or the dispute around it requires its own article. Merge it into Southernmost settlements#Southernmost city. Jojalozzo 17:15, 20 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
BTW, it makes no difference whether PW is a city or not. If PW makes a claim to the designation then their claim has standing in the article under the old name. Jojalozzo 17:19, 20 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
