Notability[edit]

I actually came to this page after editing several other articles about hymn writers. Last week and this week I was bored in church so I made notes about some hymns and hymn writers and later made some updates for several articles. This song is actually included in my church's hymnal. This hymnal includes many songs that are over 100 years old. Interesting that Melody Green's song had only been out for 11 years when it was published in this hymnal. It is notable. Article needs cleaning up and more references, but it should stay. H-2-O (talk) 00:11, 17 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Just now I was perusing Amazon's music section, and I did a search on "There is a Redeemer". There is just page after page. All of this same song. H-2-O (talk) 04:23, 18 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Agree with H-2-O here, this was actually adopted as a school hymn by The Eaton House Group of Schools in I guess the late 90s (so not long after it was written), I have seen many MIDI files of this piece of music available online and it has been present in many hymnals I have come across (one source says as many as 21 major hymnals), as well as seeing reports that it has been sung in small villages in Africa and Asia. In addition, I have seen it used in several church services, and it has been covered by many well-known artists, each having their own WP page. I therefore believe this should NOT be deleted as I believe it is notable, especially considering the number of sources that have been used as references to back it up. I can confirm H-2-O's report on the Amazon thing, on the US and UK sites there are endless pages of just this piece of music. One Of Seven Billion (talk) 18:08, 5 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
