Party cartel[edit]

What does Dr. Baudet mean with party cartel (Dutch partijkartel)? He often speaks about it but I still do not understand it. Andries (talk) 20:05, 1 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Not that I necessarily agree with this, but the notion is that political power in the Netherlands is being monopolized by a limited set of parties that purport to represent a broad coalition of societal voices but in fact are an in-crowd of undifferentiated political operatives. Who, by now, don't even capture majorities in the elections but still dominate, for example, unelected political positions (such as mayors) and jobs in quasi-NGOs (e.g. healthcare, education, large housing corporations, public broadcasting, etc.), and who enforce a "cordon sanitaire" on outsiders. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 153.227.221.173 (talk) 17:43, 14 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Over-categorization[edit]

This article seems to be over-categorized. Categories that are not are supported by sourced content in the article, such as television producer, should be removed. See also Wikipedia:Categorization of people. – Editør (talk) 12:34, 5 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Tricky biography, e.g. homeopathic dilution, BLP violation[edit]

This biography is and will be very tricky, because Baudet is in the most generous explanation sometimes not very cautious when speaking. In the most generous explanation he does not always realize how his words can be misinterpreted by people who oppose or distrust him. For example, regarding homeopathic dilution he later said when interrogated by Eva Jinek in her talk show that he referred to cultural values, not to race. This is not mentioned in the article, so the biography is now is a WP:BLP violation though factually correct. I can give more examples of this, but not so quickly with good references. Participating in debate in parliament is below his dignity[edit]

Baudet who is a member of parliament stated openly in the parliament that participating in debate in parliamenent is below his dignity.[1]He later stated in a news show that he meant that he found debating a waste of time regretted having said this because he did not want to make an arrogant impression to the public. Protection for article needed[edit]

Baudet is an increasingly controversial politician in the Netherlands. I believe it would be wise to protect this article as to prevent vandalism. I'm writing this because I noticed in this article that "The Honourable" had been changed in teasing fashion to "Highly Noble Strictly Sir". I do not know how to mark an article for possibly needing protection but I do believe it to be wise. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MamaMia37 (talkcontribs) 20:57, 26 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, this page needs protection. BizarreDove (talk) 16:20, 8 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed, the dutch version of the article is much more objective. The current english version is overly negative and does not contain a lot of useful information. 94.157.35.92 (talk) 12:47, 10 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Covid Skeptisism[edit]

I think this could be expanded. Baudet stands out amongst Dutch politicians for his stance on Covid. For example, his current pinned tweet is 'Whatever you do, do not take the "vaccine"!'. He also frequently retweets anti-Covid sentiments. (Many of which come from rather dubious sources) BizarreDove (talk) 16:28, 8 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
