Article name[edit]

Thomas Crawford of Jordanhill is used in most of the historical references, which were written after his military career was over and his role as "gentleman", including provost of Glasgow was either ongoing or at the very least, more recent. I expect readers would expect this article title over any that include "Captain". This was used in the form "Captain Thomas" in the original 2006 version of the article and this in particular seems to be more of a genealogical term (used where all subjects have the same surname).
