as Lord High Steward[edit]

In 1841 Lord Cardigan, who later led the Charge of the Light Brigade, fought a duel and shot his opponent. He was tried by his peers, which required the appointment of a Lord High Steward to preside over the trial. This duty was usually assigned to the Lord Chancellor, who usually presided over the House of Lords, but in this case Lord Denman, Lord Chief Justice of the Queen's Bench, was appointed instead. Lord Denman redirect[edit]

Why should "Lord Denman" redirect here instead of "Baron Denman"? The 3rd Lord Denman was at least as notable as the 1st, if not more so. That is where I expected to be redirected from Lord Denman but wasn't.GSTQ (talk) 03:03, 13 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
