[edit]It is not at all so certain that Thomas Rudd, the military engineer, and "Dr. Rudd" the magician, is one and the same person. Additionally it is likely that the direct connection with Dee, which has been postulated, is spurious, since Casaubon's True and Faithful Relation seems to be "Dr. Rudd's" likely source to Dee's diaries and magical system.
This article should be ditched, renamed, or completely rewritten. If opting for the last strategy, the "Thomas Rudd"-article should concern the military engineer (discussed in the ODNB article), while a section discussing the rumour of a connection with the Rudd magical manuscripts could be included. An article on "Dr. Rudd (magician)" could be created separately. (IgorAsper (talk) 20:18, 7 January 2009 (UTC))
