I altered the intro to remove references to Alvin C. York being a conscientious objector who won the Medal of Honor. The reference here is in conflict with the similar reference to Bennett on the Doss page, because it does not mention York. Even York's own page does not make the claim with this kind of authority, and describes there being "some controversy on whether he was an official conscientious objector". Considering the number of men he killed while winning the Medal, I don't see where the controversy is - but if it's going to be hashed out, let it be done there. Grandnephew

What is the significance of his grandnephew, Jesse Beam, attending The Citadel? Is Jesse significant? Does he have his own wikipedia entry? Or should this short paragraph be deleted? Bob305 (talk) 03:27, 6 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
