Appropriateness of flags[edit]

Many of the prizewinners are persecuted by the governments ruling the country where they live. Their governments certainly don't consider them as representatives for their countries. Is it appropriate to use the flags of countries of prizewinners for this article? They serve no purpose other than decoration.
