Talk:Three Little Pigs (song)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It should be noted that this song is a cover of the same-titled song by Mucky Pup, featured on their 1989 album 'A Boy in a Man's World'.

I have seen a lot of sources say that Maynard James Keenan is the falsetto backing vocals, this should be discussed and rectified. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.181.212.8 (talk) 12:53, 24 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, no. While they have the same subject, and some similar wording, the similarities are right out of the original fable, so that doesn't constitute a 'cover' by any means of the word. 72.209.187.146 (talk) 22:13, 10 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Different Songs

[edit]

"Three Little Pigs" was written by Marc Levinthal and Bill Manspeaker, they are different songs, from the same story. Skeletor2112 04:48, 16 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:GreenJellypigs.jpg

[edit]

Image:GreenJellypigs.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Add Hair metal as a genre to this song?

[edit]

Hi fellow editors, want to make sure it's ok to add the genre of hair metal to this page.

Referred to directly on this entertainment article: Late-Stage Hair Metal Was a Hell of a Thing (pajiba.com)

Quote "Just as the hair metal scene was starting to give way to grunge, a fourth wave rolled in and tried to capitalize on the dying hair metal scene with a combination of guitar and gimmick — it was largely a bunch of one-hit wonders and Dr. Demento detritus. It was these bands that came to mind this morning for reasons that I cannot explain. There was, for instance, Steelheart, which was a sort of hair metal Celine Dion, just atrocious music belted out by a guy with an insane metal falsetto. There was also White Trash, which combined hair metal and ska. But the three one-hit wonders from that fourth wave I remember most fondly were the following: Green Jellÿ, a sort of shitty Gwar (that originally went under the name Green Jell-O until Kraft Foods threatened to sue them) that actually featured, at one time, a couple of members of Tool before they formed Tool (including Maynard James Keenan). They had a song about the Three Little Pigs. It was, inexplicably, a huge hit both on MTV and on the rock charts."

This seems to be a direct reference of this song being a part of this genre. Happy to discuss! Thanks! AgentKozak (talk) 17:40, 2 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Unless it specifically calls the song that, it is WP:ORIGINAL RESEARCH --FMSky (talk) 19:32, 30 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
