Untitled[edit]

Thuri is subtribe of Luo tribe. Members of this tribe live in Abul, Awoda and Awiel in the south Sudan. They speak Dhithuri (Dhilul) with little change in some words and pronunciation.

Awoda[edit]

Awoda is a town located between Abul and Aweil. Awoda was established in 1990 when Thuri people from Abul ran away from Abul due to violence as a result of the Sudan second war. The first family arrived in Awoda in April and they started off by clearing the land to start farming. While the family of Panyang, Pachai, Lani and some other clans settled in Awoda, Pudiage, Ubuni and other few clans settled in Moni while Pimana and others settled in Gali. They all later moved to Awoda starting in 1992 so that kids can start school. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.96.133.93 (talk) 03:55, 26 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
