@ChuChu: Perhaps it's because of the brevity of the edit comments, but I don't know if I understand what you mean. According to Template:Infobox animanga#Manga, the demographic is established by the Japanese magazine in which the work was originally published. I read this as meaning that manga published in a shōjo magazine are shōjo manga, and manga published in a shōnen magazine are shōnen manga.--Alexandra IDVtalk 08:25, 4 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Alexandra IDV: Not always, if it's published by a shounen comic imprint, then it's a shounen manga, if it's published by a shoujo comic imprint, then it's a shoujo manga, and so on... This particular manga was published by Jump Comics and so is a shounen manga. If the publisher goes crazy and publishes a manga serialized in Margaret magazine under Jump Comics, then it would be a shounen manga, and if the publisher goes crazy and publishes a manga serialized in a shounen manga magazine under Margaret Comics then it would be a shoujo manga. In most cases Comic Imprint >>>>> Manga Magazine. Usually publishers don't do something like that (don't publish under a comic imprint belonging/targeted at a different demographic), but if they do, that's how it would be. Anyway, here's the link where the publisher (Shueisha) is tagging the manga as only shounen: http://www.s-manga.net/book/978-4-08-870872-0.html there's no shoujo tag there... the publisher wouldn't be tagging a Jump Comics manga as shoujo. @ChuChu:, @Alexandra IDV: Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan Episode 8: D.N.A was published in Bessatsu Margaret, a shōjo manga magazine.
Again, doesn't matter where it was published, the tankoubon was published under Jump Comics, which is a shounen comic imprint. If you are still not convinced check the publisher link I supplied above. Yes, Shounen manga, there's no mention of it being shoujo manga by the publisher.
