Penguins or cormorants

There is an image on the page showing an island full or cormorans, but the description erroneously says they are penguins. Please look closely in the large size version of the picture and correct! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.113.229.70 (talk) 11:41, 3 March 2012 (UTC)

Thank you for your concern. I enlarged the photo, as per your advice, and I am not certain if the photo shows a colony of Magellanic Penguins or a colony of Imperial Shags (a type of cormorant native to that area). None of them are in-flight, and some appear to have black feet rather than orange feet, so I am inclined to think they're penguins. As the editor who uploaded the image (ca:Usuari:Lohen11) labelled it as penguins, and further claims credit for taking the photo, we should defer to his description as default judgement. If you (or another editor) are still convinced they're cormorants, I suggest you contact him. Boneyard90 (talk) 12:55, 3 March 2012 (UTC)

Minor point

North American beavers were not introduced until the 1950s - not by American or European settlers, but by the Argentinian government. Some clarification of this point in the Fauna section might be useful. <> Alt lys er svunnet hen (talk) 22:54, 28 July 2016 (UTC)
