America?[edit]

America as in the Unites States, America as in the Americas? Should I be adding Canadian history? --Kevlar (talkcontribs) 18:59, 9 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The definition should be whatever the Orthodox Church in America considers its limits; it would be helpful if the links to OCA were piped there. North America might be a reasonable change, considering that we do include Mexico City and Montreal. Septentrionalis PMAnderson 22:19, 11 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
If this is for the history of one particular chruch organization / group (e.g. OCA), it should say that. They are plenty of other Orthodox Churches in the North America (ee List of Eastern Orthodox jurisdictions in North America). If it is a common history of all of them, then it should say that, as in History of Christianity in Ukraine. --Kevlar (talkcontribs) 00:39, 16 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm removing the {{move}} tag as there is no suggestion/consensus as to what, exactly, the name of the destination article should be at this time. Before any move is performed, the larger issue must be resolved: what exactly is the scope of this article? JPG-GR (talk) 04:39, 20 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It seems this was copied from Orthowiki where the scope was primarily the US and especially the OCA. Since WP aims for broad coverage I would like to repurpose this article, and the others in the infoxbox, it to include all Eastern Orthodox churches (recognized or otherwise) or even better all of Eastern Christianity, in the entirety of the Americas. If later there is enough material we can split off sperate articles by country / region or by specific church. --Kevlar (talkcontribs) 23:48, 27 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
