scholarly theories[edit]

If we mention the possibility that the first Hungarian groups started to migrate to the Carpathian Basin around 892 then we will have to demonstrate another scholarly theory (by Szoke) which says that it is possible that the first Hungarian settlers came to the Carpathian Basin around 850 AD. Also, according to Revesz it is assumed that Hungarian warriors participated in at the Battle of Pliska in 811. Herodotus′ Iyrcae is also important. However, I know the list of theories is quite long.. I can′t decide which theory is more appropriate to use here.Fakirbakir (talk) 10:04, 15 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your comment. Yes, I think we should mention the first theory, because it is widely accepted that Magyar groups penetrated into the Carpathian Basin because 895. Sincerely, I would not mention the Magyars' alleged participation in the Battle of Pliska, because the theory is quite marginal. The association of Herodotus' Iyrcae with the Magyars is even more marginal. I would say it is close to fringe. Borsoka (talk) 02:31, 16 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
