I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Timeline of Operation Pillar of Defense's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "haaretz":

  • From Ofakim: New Horizons for Ofakim
  • From Operation Pillar of Defense: Harel, Amos; Issacharoff, Avi; Cohen, Gili (14 November 2012). "Hamas military chief Ahmed Jabari killed by Israeli strike". Haaretz. IL. Retrieved 14 November 2012.
  • From Iron Dome: Harel, Amos (3 February 2010). "IDF: No plans to deploy anti-missile system in Sderot". Haaretz. Retrieved 3 February 2010.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 00:49, 13 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Scope of Operation Pillar of Defense[edit]

It is generally acknowledged that the mutual hostilities and the Operation were triggered by the Israeli assassination of a senior Hamas official, the commander of Hamas's military wing, Ahmed Jabari, on 14 November 2012.[1] As such the days before this event should not be included in the Operation's timeline, but left to Operation Pillar of Defense - Pre-operation events
