Many thanks!

[edit]

This is one extremely helpful article; the charts are easy to read and understand; there are real live citations, to boot. This is the type of article that I didn't realize I needed until I saw it. Excellent job - you all deserve raises, especially Camelbinky. (Imagine that this is a thumbs-up: hmn ) Wordreader (talk) 20:22, 26 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Dutchess: Oblong & Orange: Mamakating

[edit]

In looking over Dutchess County, I see no mention of the Oblong, land that was ceded in 1731 from the Province of Connecticut. It ran the entire eastern length of the county and therefore the length of Putnam, too.

In looking over Orange County, you indicate that Mamakating was part of Ulster, which is true. But the chart seems to indicate that it turned into the Town of Deerpark in Orange. Perhaps part of it did, I don't know those details, but today's Town of Mamkating is definitely in Sullivan County, which cleaved off from Ulster in 1809. I think that the chart is misleading to people new to the topic and who choose not to look further. Thank you, Wordreader (talk) 07:24, 27 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
