I have made a number of changes to my article but have not received any feedback. Elainem2 (talk) 17:28, 27 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I had this article reviewed in the sandbox and was told it looked OK. Not sure what the problem is now. Please let me know. Thank you. Elainem2 (talk) 23:40, 23 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The references need to be fixed; see WP:REF for how to do this. Also, the introductory sentence sounds a little promotional; you might want to remove the "award-winning" bit. I'm also moving the article to Timothy Corrigan (interior designer), per the guidelines at Wikipedia:Article titles. Let me know if you have any questions, Feezo (Talk) 02:33, 24 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know who reviewed it for you or what they said but it was nowhere near ready for moving into article space. I've fix a few problems but I must say that I'm not convinced of this guy's notability and will be doing some checking up just in case the entire thing should be deleted. A couple of glossy "coffee-table" magazine reports do not make someone notable.- Sitush (talk) 09:48, 24 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have added a number of references to my article. Please let me know if there is anything else I can do to make this article meet your standards. In response to the question of Timothy Corrigan being a notable person, in the design world and as a taste-maker, he is considered extremely notable. The amount of press he has received speaks for itself - feel free to check out his website to see the extent of it. There are other interior designers on Wikipedia such as Kerry Joyce and Vincente Wolf that are in the same league as Timothy but don't have nearly the amount of press and notoriety that Timothy does. The AD100 is considered the gold standard in the industry, so just that accolade alone would make him worthy of Wikipedia. Hope this helps you understand why he should be part of Wikipedia. Thank you for taking the time to review the article. Elainem2 (talk) 15:30, 25 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure what articles to link to this page. Please help. Thank you. Elainem2 (talk) 22:19, 27 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

How about the pages of famous people he's designed homes for? There are also pages in Category:Interior design that may be relevant. Feezo (Talk) 23:16, 27 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Timothy does not feel comfortable listing the names of his celebrity clients in the article. I did add a number of internal links and references, as well as additional information about his extensive art collection and chateau. Please let me know how I can get rid of all the negative tags on this article. Thank you. Elainem2 (talk) 04:51, 1 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If the information is public and verifiable, then except in very rare cases it can potentially be included — it's not down to subjects of biographies to decide their content. That said, if the information hasn't been disclosed, then it can't possibly be included, since it wouldn't be verifiable. Even if the Corrigan himself disclosed it, it would require a secondary source. Since you seem to be speaking from knowledge of his wishes, may I ask if you're representing him?
Regarding the tags, the references can be improved by replacing the primary sources with secondary sources: several of the references cite personal webpages, which, as self-published sources, are not considered reliable. If these are replaced with secondary sources, then that tag can be removed. As for notability, I see only eight hits in Google's news archive for "Timothy Corrigan" "interior designer" — not really enough to qualify as significant coverage. You might want to look at the other notability criteria in WP:BIO in case this is ever nominated for deletion. Feezo (Talk) 08:47, 1 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the response. Many of the magazine articles featuring Mr.Corrigan are not available on-line. Is it ok to simply put the date each article was published rather than linking them to his web site? There are so many interior designers listed under American Interior Designers that are far less notable than Timothy Corrigan, so I'm perplexed at how difficult it has been to prove his notability. He has been featured in hundreds of magazines & newspapers, on numerous television shows, as a spokesman for nationally known products, speaks around the world. Please let me know about the magazine references and if there is anything else I can do to complete this process. Thanks you. 69.225.135.64 (talk) 14:19, 1 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Are you Elainem2? You seem to have logged out. In any case, offline materials are of course acceptable, as long as they are reliable and independent of the subject. If he has received as much coverage as you claim, I'm a little puzzled why there is so little on him in Google's news archive, which, while not complete, normally gives a fair representation of coverage. Finally, the existence of articles on less notable people doesn't mean that they are necessarily notable either: Wikipedia's guidelines are not always applied consistently, and it could just be that no one has taken the trouble to tag or nominate them for deletion. This can take some getting used to, but is how Wikipedia works. In the long run it's better to show that a particular page meets the guidelines ratehr than pointing out the deficiencies of other pages. Feezo (Talk) 00:54, 2 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed all links to Timothy Corrigan's website and in the case where the articles were not available online I cited the article and publication without a link. I hope this helps! Elainem2 (talk) 04:54, 2 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Nicely done! I've removed the notability and reference tags. The article looks pretty good now. Once some relevant links are introduced from other articles (maybe the "featured designers" section on Elle Decor?) the orphan tag can be removed. Feezo (Talk) 05:58, 2 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please remove this page from the list of Category:American interior designers. Also, Timothy Corrigan should be moved to the "C" listings rather than the "A" listings. Thank you. Elainem2 (talk) 14:10, 8 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Is he not American? If this is the case, you can remove the category yourself — it's set at the end of the article, rather than at the category page. Correcting the order requires the use of a sortkey, which I went ahead and added. By the way, to link to a category, the syntax is [[:Category:American Interior Designers]]. I corrected this in your post so this talk page isn't added to that category. Feezo (Talk) 20:51, 11 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
