Untitled[edit]

I deleted the section that listed his publications since it was basically the bibliography at the bottom converted to prose. Any thoughts? The article definitely needs a considerable overhaul - Jack39

This article is just lifted from his bio on freeworldweb.net

Timothy Garton Ash is a idiot. He dont know nothing about the Brazil or brazilian life. He like to speak about everything but without know nothing. Just listen to this guy in a debate with Ayaan Hirsi Ali, man is he boring. He just goes on and on, says nothing. Talks so solwly, with that fakey fake professor like british accent. If he's reading this, to hints.. talking faster, and have a point. Steve kap (talk) 20:04, 14 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If anyone would like to put them up, I've got some fine pictures of Mr. Ash as CC-BY on flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/cjsveningsson/tags/timothygartonash/ . Oh, and quit making nasty comments about someone you dislike on their wikipedia talk page, it's just poor taste CarlJohanSveningsson (talk) 11:22, 28 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

increasingly post-western world[edit]

"..He has examined the role of Europe in an increasingly post-Western world.." What about the world makes it increasingly post-western? Nickrz (talk) 17:10, 29 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Not an anti-communist?[edit]

Garton Ash pretty much became famous in the first place because of his subversive work in encouraging the overthrow of Marxist-Leninist states in Germany and Poland. The old anarchist-marijuanese line that opposing "Stalinism" isn't "anti-communist" doesn't really work in the case of Garton Ash because he is explicitly a non-socialist, a liberal in both senses (socially liberal and economically neoliberal). He is quite open and proud of his anti-communist stance. Why wouldn't we put him in a category of English anti-communists? Claíomh Solais (talk) 21:21, 25 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Surname[edit]

The article treats his surname as "Garton Ash", but his sons are simply "Ash"; is "Garton" just a shared middle name with his father? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.109.197.144 (talk) 03:18, 19 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
