Untitled[edit]

Can you please not delete this page. I'm working on Information, but will do tomorrow. He is a author of a book series and has been on television, and is the current headmaster of the well know school King's in Sydney, Australia.

Thanks

An article[edit]

Well, to add weight to him participating as a commentator to political issues in Australia, here is an article in sydney morning herald by Hawkes: Funds squabble impoverishes schools, November 17, 2007.

My opinion is he is quoted frequently so he meets WP:BIO, I am removing the WP:N flag.58.107.80.11 (talk) 13:46, 17 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

ps above ip was me not signed in.Garrie 20:54, 18 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Guys, I just split the article up because it was getting a bit long and block-like. I added in criticism section because the article seems a little self-promotional. Hopefully the criticisms are well enough sourced to satisfy you. I'm sure my changes have a few mistakes so please have a look through. I'll be keeping an eye on this page. Issues[edit]

It's overlinked, and in a few places POV ("Elite", hello?). Please read WP:MOS; title case needs fixing to start with. Tony (talk) 14:22, 13 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Talk PAge[edit]

It might be helpful if we discuss our changes to this article on the talk page to get concensus. I added the criticism section (and references) because this article is very POV. If you guys have any other interesting sources or points of view, let us know, thanks. (Captain hoek (talk) 20:22, 14 September 2008 (UTC))[reply]

Popular as a speaker?[edit]

Give one source to say he is popular and i will leave it alone! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Captain hoek (talkcontribs) 20:35, 14 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

USER:Macpatel[edit]

Macpatel is making ridiculous edits to this page. Here are his contributions: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?limit=50&title=Special%3AContributions&contribs=user&target=macpatel&naespace=&year=&month=-1 Note that he/she soley comments on Hawkes, does not reference etc...(Captain hoek (talk) 21:12, 14 September 2008 (UTC))[reply]

A message to USER:Bainimarama666[edit]

Your changes to the Hawkes' page are unacceptable. If you think there is a reason to write "Both Tim and Jane come from very old and distinguished families" without a reference, please explain it on the talk page and we will listen (good luck). It's a waste of all the other editor's time to have an editing war with you. On the same note, stop changing 'one of australia's leading schools' to 'Australia's leading school' - you don't have a reference and even if you did it would be a POV!!! Thanks. (Captain hoek (talk) 00:52, 15 September 2008 (UTC))

Once again 'old and distinguished families appeared, this time from an anonymous IP address. Once again without a reference. HAve deleted it. maybe we need semi-protect....! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Captain hoek (talkcontribs) 03:40, 15 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed: this article will be heading for the deletion category if we can't clean out the puffery. I'm sure Dr Hawkes himself would want to see the greater authority that comes from a NPOV piece. The peacock words just ruin it. Tony (talk) 06:27, 15 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
SUPPORT deletion of this page. (Captain hoek (talk) 14:43, 15 September 2008 (UTC))[reply]

Bent Spoon[edit]

I think its relevant even if he was only a nominee, especially in light of the general criticism for his position (see references). —Preceding unsigned comment added by Captain hoek (talkcontribs) 14:49, 15 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"OLD AND DISTINGUISHED FAMILY"

Every family is as old as every other family - going back to Adam (if you believe in intelligent design) or the apes (if you don't). As for distinguished, it's a meaningless term. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.218.160.103 (talk) 23:05, 20 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
