Article is in date and long enough (just). I've removed 'infamous' from the article and hook, it's a bit of a value judgement and purple prosey. No QPQ needed. I find the article quite stubby, there's very little about Meaher. The find a grave source has a wealth of detail on his life, but can't be used here as it is not considered a WP:RS (and would need replacing in the article). There's perhaps more you might include from this obituary and perhaps this source. The book on the event must also have some detail on the man. At the moment the article seems to raise a lot of questions that would be interesting - what were the terms of the bet for example? Who was it with? Who helped in the enterprise? How many slaves? Where from? Why was Meaher rich and wealthy? What did he do in later life? At the moment the only details that seem to appear in this article and not in say Clotilda (slave ship) are Meaher's early life and death details, both of which are sourced to findagrave. Wikipedia:Did you know/Supplementary guidelines#Other supplementary rules for the article D7 says "Articles that fail to deal adequately with the topic are ... likely to be rejected." Coming here from WT:DYK, I suppose that while Find A Grave usually isn't considered a good source, I think it might be allowed perhaps just for citing the burial location, though a second (reliable) source should probably be included as well just to make sure. I have to agree that right now, while the article seems okay, it only seems to barely discuss his birth and death and instead mainly focuses on the slave ship itself. Nothing regarding the circumstances of why he started in the first place, how it ended, other important matters, etc. This could be allowed if let's say an attempt was made to search for such information without success, but until then, D7 may apply. @Master Of Ninja: Will you be able to expand the article in regards to more information about Meaher's personal life? Contested deletion[edit]

This page should not be speedy deleted as an unambiguous copyright infringement. There is no infringement. The page is fully referenced, and the development can be seen in the history logs. The page that has been submitted as the potential "source" is a wikipedia mirror of some sort. Also the page being reference is mirroring a template page. The reporter of this speedy deletion is not even a bot. I will take this to the admins for a request for abritration immediately. - Master Of Ninja (talk) 17:02, 4 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
