Rename?[edit]

Would anybody object if I renamed this to Draft:Public toilets in New York City? That's largely what the draft is about anyway. -- RoySmith (talk) 14:46, 13 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@RoySmith, most of the content I was able to find so far is about public toilets. The topic of public toilets in NYC is notable, as there's been a lot of coverage about them over the years. However, private toilets are almost definitely not notable. NYC has the same types of toilets as the rest of the United States, so any discussion of toilet models should probably go in a generic article about toilets in the U.S.

The reason why I don't think we should move the draft right now is that I've also found some info about NYC's toilet-related building codes. I think we should first see whether we can find more information about the history of toilets in NYC. Good point Roy. I agree with @Epicgenius that we could remove some of the technical toilet talk to a Toilets in the United States article. A couple counter points on non-public toilets of interest. The article already covers a couple subjects that are interesting and not public toilet: history of the toilets in the tenements, old urinals at Old Town Bar and Restaurant and McSorley's Old Ale House, and the America (Cattelan) gold toilet sculpture. Also, interesting information might be dug up on Privy digging which are largely private toilets, from what I understand. My 2 cents. - Wil540 art (talk) 18:08, 13 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

We should have some coverage of deliveristas need to use bathrooms. I'm having trouble turning this into WP:NPOV-compliant text, so for now, just listing some sources:

How many public bathrooms does the MTA really have?[edit]

The article currently states: 69 citing this article [1] but I don't see the number in that article.
This article states 133 restrooms. [2]
